While every effort is made towards adding flexibility to lecturer-student contact through the e-mail and internet facilities, formal teaching in the MMES is designed on the principle of face-contact and class participation. As a rule, courses convene once a week for a single two-hour period, over some twelve or thirteen weeks only. This streamlines encounters and prevents unnecessary multiplication of class-hours. For this very reason, as a rule courses require the students’ regular attendance and there is at present no provision for distance-teaching. This means students will be expected to attend sessions regularly. 70% is the minimum attendance frequency stipulated, below which the student’s preparation may be seriously compromised.
